A deliciously scented salve of the iconic Canadian balsam fir (abies balsamea) with fragrant wild harvested buds of the balsam poplar tree (populus balsamifera). This ointment is incense in the form of a salve! These trees are well known for growing in the Northern Boreal Forest and are medicines with a long history of use by both the indigenous tribes and settlers of Canada.
Both balsams are traditionally used as a chest rub and decongestant for colds, blocked sinuses, and lung infections. Thanks to the antibacterial and antimicrobial properties of these two trees, this ointment is also excellent for treating any wound --whether they are cuts, burns, splinters, or sprains. Use for the scent alone or to massage dry, cracked skin or sore and aching muscles & joints. A great ointment to have in a first aid kit or your home medicine cabinet.
Crafted with locally foraged balsam fir resin and needles and poplar buds, sunflower oil, and filtered beeswax.
