Sustainably grown sweetgrass harvested and braided last summer by the Native Cree people from Northern Manitoba, Canada with prayers and tobacco offered to the sweetgrass upon harvest. This fragrant braid is green with purple roots, showing its freshness and quality.
Sweetgrass is used for purification, blessing, offerings, and is said to chase away evil spirits. Burn the braid itself or snip with scissors onto lit incense charcoal to smudge. It can also be used as medicine, it is lovely added to salves and lotions, but should not be regularly ingested due to its coumarin content (which gives sweetgrass its sweet vanilla scent).
